Students are asked to leave their computers and/or laptops at home so they're able to fully concentrate on the lesson as it's being taught. A full handout (and corresponding editing videos) will be given to students so they can apply what they've learned to their personal work at home.

*The most recent version of Photoshop Elements can be purchased as an online download here. The price of the class does not include the Photoshop Elements software.

Frequently Asked Questions:

I have a previous version of Photoshop Elements! Should I upgrade to Photoshop Elements 2018 first before signing up?
Nope! We do recommend, however, that your Photoshop Elements is version 13 or above.

Why can't I bring my laptop?
Having taught the class with laptops present and without, we've come to the overwhelming conclusion that it's truly better for students to come, watch, and learn. Because it's all so exciting, students with laptops tend to get distracted as they test out their knowledge, missing instruction and information that follows. We're not trying to hold out on you... promise!

How is Photoshop Elements different from the editing software that comes with my computer?
The main difference is the "layers" feature. This allows you to specifically target certain areas of your photo without affecting others. For example, you may want to boost the saturation of your image but find that the faces are too red as a result. With Photoshop, you can boost the saturation of everything but the skin. You can also change the color of objects, eliminate distractions, add drama to your photos... the list goes on and on!

I have a subscription to Photoshop CC... can I still come?
Absolutely! Photoshop CC and Photoshop Elements are very similar, with few exceptions. If you have Photoshop CC, there are some features in your program that won't be covered... but everything covered in the class will be applicable!
